Fantasy, Focus, and Film:
An Analysis of the Life and Work of Federico Fellini
Abstract.
Federico Fellini was a filmmaker that changed the face of cinema. He was born in the small sea-side town of Rimini (a point of nostalgia), eventually moving to Rome. While in Rome, Fellini rubbed elbows with artists at the forefront of Italian Neo-realism. After the death of Neo-realism, Fellini would blossom, showing the glamorous but vacuous Rome of the 1960s in La Dolce Vita (1960), an exploration his own subconscious with help from the theories of Carl Jung in his work 8½ (1963), among many other feats. In total, Fellini's willingness to explore cinema has inspired all cinema.

Hello! My name is Friend Rogers, as of the moment I am a senior at Wakefield School. I have always had a focus on film ever since I was little. through the years of avid film watching, the work of Federico Fellini has hit me in a way like no other directors work. I am fascinated by every steps of the process relating to a Fellini film! I myself aspire to the position of director someday! So whenever I am feeling uninspired about film, all I need to do is watch a Fellini film. Next year I will be attending George Mason University with a focus on filmmaking. As you can probably guess, I enjoy everything Fellini-esque, so picking this as my Thesis topic was a work of passion and joy.
